Last week, Van Jones, green jobs champion and special adviser to the White House resigned after weeks of harassment by Glenn Beck and Fox News. He resigned in the spirit of keeping the focus on the real fight in front of us. Van's resignation is difficult for us all to swallow -- but it's also a wake-up call to our movement. Now's our chance to channel our confusion, frustration & anger, by standing up for the vision of clean energy jobs to which Van has dedicated his life's work.
That's why, on September 21, we are excited to deliver our leaders a "Wake-Up Call" of their own. At UGA, folks are getting together at the Tate Center for a "Wake-Up Call" flash-mob, pressing for bold action on climate & clean energy jobs this year.
12/18 is the date of the UN Climate Talks at Copenhagen. So, at exactly 12:18pm (on Mon, Sept 21) we will be setting off our alarm clocks and calling our senators to make real change on global warming.
Please show up between 11:45 and 12:00 with your own battery operated alarm clock and wear green!
